Christchurch mini-ships
Rosa Henderson has built two small 10sq meter Earthships in Canterbury. One is in Christchurch, started as a community project after the earthquakes, with Mike Reynolds and a team of interns. This was built by 40 in 4 days, with the finishes by the christchurch team. This will be a public thinking/healing space for anyone to come and enjoy, up on Huntsbury hill on an organic vineyard over looking the city and out to the alps.
The other is in North Canterbury, an hour north of Christchurch on Rosa’s organic family farm on 800 acres. This is temple space, a round hut with dome ceiling. Both buildings catch water, use tires, bottles and cans and are designed by Mike Reynolds from Earthship Biotecture.
Due to their size, were able to be built without a building consent.
