Gubb Earthship
The home of Brian Gubb and family in Ngaruwahia was built following earthship concepts and granted consent by Waikato District Council in 2004. While not all Earthship design principles were adhered to and building controls are now a lot stricter, it does provide New Zealands only example to date of a consented tyre building and the relevent engineering details.
